Welcome

Welcome to New Year of the Bowning Babble, to ensure the information you are seeking is up to date please keep in contact with me and help share our community spirit. I look forward to another eventful year in 2016.

Holiday Program

At the CWA Room in Bowning volunteers with experience in the field of art have been running the Holiday Program, children from all areas have been joining us and the pieces of art created are inspiring.

With young hearts and minds it is incredible what the children take home with them at the end of the day. There is only two days left of this January Holiday Program, Monday the 18th and Tuesday the 19th with 9am drop off with a 9.30am start and 3.30pm finish with a later pick up time if needed.

We have been focusing on getting pieces ready for children to enter into the Yass Show, whether it be as a group entry our individual.

Cost of this program is $25 per day per child, this covering costs of materials, children need to bring their morning tea and lunch with a water bottle. For more information on booking please leave a message on 0423 771 304 and ‘May The Art Be With You’.

Bus Shelter Painting

Weather permitting this coming week the Bus Shelter near Edith’s Store will have a new look, children who wish to participate in the make-over must make contact with me on 0423 771 304 or via Facebook. It is a fun experience with no pressure to have any artistic ability at all, it is about achieving a goal within our community. Hope to see some kids ready and raring to go.

Hot Weather

Keep in mind that our elderly suffer through this warmer weather and it is important to make a phone call or pop around for a visit to make sure they are comfortable and cool. Many of our older community members won’t complain about the heat for fear of being a nuisance but remember heat can have an awful impact on our loved ones. For further information visit www.healthdirect.gov.au.

Please ensure all pets are kept cool in this warmer weather, it is important that pets have sufficient shade and extra water. If you are away, ask a friend or neighbour to check on them regularly.

Fire Plans in Place

We have been blessed thus far but don’t take our luck for granted, tragedies happen and to prevent holiday upset be sure to have your Family Fire Plan in place, this includes your loved ones and your property. Visit www.myfireplan.com.au for further information.

Fundraiser

A Bush Dance will be organised shortly to help support our community projects, if you would like to help in any way please leave a message at 0423 771 304 or go to the Bowning Babble Facebook page and leave a message.

Bowning Playgroup

We will start our new year of playgroup on Friday January 29, 9.30am-11.30am at the Bowning CWA Room. Anyone wishing to come along and see if the group suits their needs is more than welcome.

Keep Well To All
