BREAKING: A 23 year-old Sydney woman has died at the Dragon Dreaming Festival in Wee Jasper at the weekend.

The woman, from Berala, attended the four-day event on Friday on the property at Cooradigbee, on the shores of Lake Burrinjuck.

Police said she complained to friends about feeling unwell on Saturday.  By 5.30am yesterday, was found in an unresponsive state and she wasn’t breathing.

On-site medical personnel performed CPR on the woman but she was unable to be revived, police advised.

An investigation into the cause of her death has been established and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

The festival has come under fire in the past for the large number of drug detections at previous events, with 72 recorded last year.

Interim numbers from this year’s event include 78 drug detections and 20 positive random drug tests, with final figures to be made available later in the week, police said.

Three party participants were charged with supplying drugs at the venue.

Scoop is awaiting a comment from the organisers of the event.

The festival showcased one of their June events in their video below, posted on Facebook.
