Motorcyclist dies in crash at Binalong

POLICE: Police are investigating a fatal crash about five kilometres east of Binalong on Wednesday.

About 9.30am a 49-year-old man was riding his motorcycle east along Burley Griffin Way when he left the roadway and hit a tree.

The man sustained critical injuries and was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics but died at the scene.

A crime scene was established at the location and examined by detectives.

The roadway was closed for a number of hours while emergency services carried out inquiries; however, all lanes have since been re-opened.

Officers attached to The Hume Local Area Command are continuing their investigation and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
