Honouring ANZACS on Monday

Several ANZAC Day services will be held across the valley on Monday, April 25.

 Yass

The Dawn Service starts at 5:30am at the Cenotaph on Comur Street.

The march will form at 10:30am at the roundabout corner of Lead and Comur Streets and move off at 10:45 am.

The ANZAC Day service will be held at the Cenotaph at 11am.

 Yass Soldiers Club

The venue will open from 6am, and the restaurant is open all day. There will be a free members breakfast at 6.30am, followed by an ANZAC Day lunch from midday and Two Up from 2pm until 10pm.

 Murrumbateman

A service hosted by the Murrumbateman Lions Club will start at Jones Park at 9.30am. After the service a free morning tea will be served at the Murrumbateman Country Inn.

Two Up will run from 12pm until 3pm at the Murrumbateman Country Inn.

Wee Jasper

The Wee Jasper ANZAC Day Commemoration Ceremony will be conducted at the Community Hall on Monday April 25 at 10.30am.

A procession to the hall, led by Piper Graham Hannaford will set off from the Wee Jasper Bridge at 10.15am.

Those wishing to join the ANZAC Day procession should assemble

at the eastern end of the Wee Jasper Bridge at 10am.

The order of the procession will be as follows:

  1. The Piper – Graham Hannaford
  2. Current and ex-service men and women, veterans, and kin of deceased veterans wearing their medals

3. Members of the community, guests and visitors.

The procession will go ahead as planned whatever the weather, but the ceremony will be held inside the hall if it’s too soggy outside.

There will be a sausage sizzle and morning tea after the ceremony.

We hope everyone will stay for this get together. Please bring a plate if you can but still come if you can’t.

Bowning

A Dawn Service will be held at the Cenotaph at 5:30am. Ben Maguire will MC with Pastor Gary Brown, of the Vine Church, performing a religious reading. Adam Farquarson, of Tumut, will play the Bugle.

Bowning Buffaloes cricket club will provide bacon and egg rolls following the service, at Bowning Hall.

 Binalong

The Binalong ANZAC march starts at 10:30am.

Gundaroo

A dawn service will be held at 5.30am.
