Inmate escapes minimum security

BREAKING: Police are searching for a prisoner who escaped from a minimum security facility in Goulburn this morning.

Beau Wiles, 25, was last seen at a work area outside the minimum security section within the Goulburn Correctional Complex just before 10am today.

Wiles was reported missing to local police, who are now searching for him.

They are door-knocking homes in the area and have searched a nearby creek and storage yard.

Wiles is serving an 18-month prison sentence for shoplifting and driving when his licence was disqualified.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, around 180cm tall and 100kg in weight. He has tattoos on his lower forearms and was last seen wearing a green prison uniform.

Police are warning the public not to approach Wiles if they see him, but to instead contact Triple Zero immediately.
