Drugs seized

A 42-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman have been charged with drug matters after police stopped them at the Yass Service Centre on Friday at 2pm.

Police were alerted to the couple because the vehicle they were driving was unregistered.

Police said they searched the car and found eight grams of suspected cannabis and a small amount of methamphetamine, believed to be Crystal Meth.

Both will appear before Yass Local Court on July 7.

Entertainment gear stolen

Police are investigating the theft of electronic entertainment equipment form a house in Petit Street.

The home was broken into sometime between 7am May 11 and 10.13am yesterday.

Items taken included an x-box console and games, television set and a blu-ray player.

Drink Driving

A 30-year-old woman from Sydney was stopped for a random breath test on the Barton Highway at Murrumbateman at 4.46pm on Saturday.

She recorded a low-range drink driving reading of 0.067.

She will appear before Yass Local Court in July.

A 55-year-old ACT man was charged with mid-range drink driving on Sutton Road at Gundaroo.

Police stopped the man’s vehicle at 6.25pm on Wednesday.

He recorded a blood-alcohol reading of 0.101.

His licence was automatically suspended and he was ordered to appear before Yass Local Court on a date to be fixed.

Driving unlicensed

A 44-year-old woman from Tasmania was stopped by police at the Yass Service Centre after enquiries revealed she was driving unlicensed.

She was stopped at 3.30pm on Friday.

She will appear before Yass Local Court on July 7.
