
Man arrested over stolen rifles
A 38-year-old man has been charged with the theft of four rifles from a home in Orion Street at the weekend.
Police were alerted to a burglary at the home of a 72-year-old man when he heard noises coming from his garage at about 3am on Saturday.
When he went to investigate, he found one of his firearms cabinets had been broken into and a number of firearms stolen.
They were two .22 calibre rifles (CZ Model 2 and Stirling 1400TS), a .17 calibre CZ 452 rifle and a 243 calibre rifle.
Yass Police arrested the 38-year-old male suspect at a Nash Street address at 4pm yesterday.
He has been charged with breaking, entering and stealing.
The rifles have been recovered by police.
