
Yass men to answer intimidation charges
FROM THE FORCE: A 28-year-old man from Yass has been charged with intimidation. Police laid the charges this week following an alleged incident on July 1 at McDonald’s Restaurant in Yass.
They said the accused and his co-accused met with the victim (who was an acquaintance) before taking him for a drive at 1.30am.
Police allege the pair then threatened to assault the Yass man.
Both accused will appear before Yass Local Court on August 4 and September 8 respectively.
$500 fine for female fight
A 22-year-old Yass woman has been fined $500 after she and an 18-year-old Yass woman broke into a fight at a local licensed premises on July 19.
Police said the women had argued at the pub between 1am and 1.30am before allegedly assaulting each other.
The younger woman went to Yass Hospital for treatment for an eyelid wound.
The matter was reported to police and after an investigation, the older woman has been charged and issued a court infringement notice for offensive conduct.
Fire, smashed window at church
The Baptist Church in Yass has been maliciously damaged with a broken window and small fire.
Police said the offender/s had set the vertical blinds on fire, causing smoke damage to the ceiling and about $2000 damage.
Anyone who saw suspicious activity at the site between 7.15pm Saturday and 9am Sunday is urged to contact the police station.
Puppy stolen
A Bull-Mastiff x Staffy puppy has been reported stolen from a yard in Demestre Street, Yass.
The puppy is brown with a white chest and four white paws, and a white line running up its face between the eyes. It answers to the name “Filly”.
The owner reported it went missing between 11pm and 11.40pm on Friday, after she noticed her other dogs had been let loose in the street and that the front gate to her property had been left open.
The puppy is microchipped and is worth about $350.

Lamb stolen
A four-month-old Dorper lamb has been stolen from a home in Mitchell Street, Yass.
Police said the owner reported the livestock went missing between 8am and 6pm on Wednesday July 15. It has a purple ear tag.
The owner reported two Muscovy ducks were taken from the property during the past two weeks also.
