SafeWork inspectors to visit Yass
BUSINESS: Yass businesses will benefit from free advice as SafeWork NSW takes its Safer Communities, Safer Towns campaign to the region this month.
SafeWork NSW Director, Regional and Response Operations Tony Williams said SafeWork inspectors will be available to offer face-to-face support on a variety of issues facing owners of small businesses.
“The event is an opportunity for local small businesses to receive expert advice to help them meet work health and safety and workers compensation obligations while discovering what other free services and resources are available,” Mr Williams said.
“SafeWork staff will provide practical advice on work health and safety laws, licensing changes, workers compensation and recover at work programs.
“Small businesses face many challenges and our inspectors will be able to meet with locals and try to tailor health and safety solutions to their operating environment.”
Businesses that attend may be eligible for a rebate of up to $500 courtesy of SafeWork’s Small Business Rebate Program which can be used to purchase and install safety improvements.
Advisors will be onsite at Riverbank Park on Friday, November 6 from 8.30am to 4.30pm with the SafeWork NSW Safety Bus.
