BREAKING: A driver has been transported to hospital after a semi trailer rolled over on the Hume Highway, about one kilometre south of the Bowning turn off an hour ago.

The truck, which was heavily loaded with logs, rolled into the median strip at about 11.30am.

The driver sustained a non-life threatening injury and was taken to The Canberra Hospital for treatment.

Emergency crews attending the scene have closed one lane of the highway, but traffic is flowing freely.

A Hazmat crew was called to mop off a fuel spill before it reached a nearby creek, and a crane has been called to help right the load.

The condition of the driver is unknown at this stage.
