Geoff said the organisation will be holding a meeting to form an additional committee focused soley on fundraising for the much support network.
“We need people with new ideas and people to implement them so that we can continue to offer the support we have over previous years,” he said.
The committee is designed to allow interested residents skilled in fundraising an outlet to help those suffering in the community.
The group will be holding a meeting tomorrow at 7.30pm at the Yass Soldiers Club and anyone is welcome to attend.
Can Assist has been operating in Yass for 12 years and during that time has assisted cancer patients with travel, accommodation  and some pharmaceutical needs.
Geoff said, “We raised and distributed $45,000 last year and we need to continue to service that need.”
Ninety-seven cents out of every dollar went directly to a patient last year with phone, stationery and registration costs taking up the other three cents.
