BREAKING: Police are looking for a man previously convicted of murder,  who has been missing from Goulburn since Sunday.

Police are concerned for the welfare of Graham Mailes, 42, and have warned the community not to approach him, as he requires daily medication for a medical condition.

Mr Mailes was no longer in gaol, having served time for the 1996 murder of  a 19-year-old woman.

He was last seen about 10.45am on Sunday in Nichols Street, Goulburn.

His disappearance was reported to police from The Hume Local Area Command, who patrolled the area looking for him without success.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Mr Mailes may be heading towards Queensland in an attempt to contact relatives.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, weighing 110kg, with long red frizzy hair and a cleft palette.

When he was last seen, Mr Mailes was wearing denim shorts, a brown polo shirt and lace-up work boots.

Police have concerns for Mr Mailes’ welfare.

Members of the community should be warned not to approach him if he is sighted, as he requires daily medication for a medical condition.

Anyone who sights Mr Mailes is urged to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
