YGC in prime position to claim minor premiership

Round 13 Preview 

CRICKET: The penultimate round of the cricket features some interesting matches as teams in all grades jockey for semi-final positions.

Triggs Shield A Grade

The four semi-finalists are decided however the finishing order is yet to be determined.

Needing only one win from their last two games, Yass Golf Club is in prime position to claim the minor premiership and earn a coveted double chance at a grand final berth.

In the match of the round they face Yass Soldiers Club, who will be smarting after last week’s close loss to Bowning which saw them drop to from second to fourth.

Yass Soldiers Club need to win both their remaining matches to have results go their way to finish in the top two.

Although out of finals reckoning, Harden will be looking to win their final home match of the season with victory over Bowning.

With a bye in the final round, a win by the visiting Buffaloes will cement a top two finish.

Also playing their final match at home, Bookham will be looking to end Royal Pirates’ recent run of good form, however the Pirates know two more wins will give them a good show of featuring in the major semi-final.

Sweeney Cup B Grade

In a dress rehearsal for the upcoming major semi-final, top of the ladder Murrumbateman hit the road to take on second placed Gundaroo.

This match should be a beauty as the winner of this game will take plenty of confidence and home ground advantage in week one of the finals.

Interestingly it’s the first time this season these two sides will meet as their first round clash was a wash-out.

The tussle for finals positions continues in the Yass Golf Club and Dalton match at O’Connor Park.

A win by either team will go a long way toward securing a finals positions and possibly a home minor semi-final.

Yass Soldiers Club C Grade

The top four is more settled but the finishing order is till up for grabs.

Yass Soldiers Club will be looking to return to the winners list when they travel to Binalong.

It won’t be an easy assignment as Binalong know victory will go a long way to securing a home minor semi-final.

Meanwhile Yass Golf Club won’t be taking Boorowa lightly when the two sides meet in Bowning.

With an eye on the minor premiership, Golf Club will need to be at their very best to defeat a rapidly improving an inform Boorowa who are coming off three impressive victories in a row.
