Junior Rams Season Ends
As the Yass-Rosary Rams took to the field at Canberra Grammar on Saturday, you could feel the intensity from both teams as they geared up for the semi-final. Marist was the only team to beat the Rams in both meetings during the season and the boys wanted to see that streak end. Marist was quick off the mark with a fast first try but missed the conversion. The Rams worked hard to keep Marist in check with one more try given away during the first half. Tom Carey was able to break free several times but only managed to cross the try line once with a conversion by George Walker.
As the second half began, the Rams were pressured by a well drilled Marist team. Despite all of their hard work, they were unable to score. Marist found the try line another two times during the
second half. As the game wound to a close, the Rams continued to fight until the final whistle. Marist took the game 26 – 7 and the U12 Yass-Rosary Rams were finished for the season.
The Player’s Player was awarded to Shaun Harris while the Coaches chose to praise all the players by awarding the Coaches Player to the entire team stating that everyone had given their best effort on the day.
The U12 Yass-Rosary Rams had a fantastic season this year and it was wonderful to interact with and watch these talented young men play. Congratulations, Rams on an impressive season!
