ICE, weapons found in car

FROM THE FORCE: A 30-year-old Yass man has been charged with drug and weapons offences after police stopped his car in Pritchett Street, Yass, on Monday.

A search of the man’s vehicle at 9.10pm revealed a quantity of methamphetamine, commonly known as ICE, and a knife.

The ICE weighed 0.8g.

He was ordered to appear before Yass Local Court on October 6.

Shoplifter fined $300

A 25-year-old woman from Yass was fined $300 for stealing an indoor antenna from Aldi Supermarket in Yass on August 24.

P-plater cops hefty fine

A 33-year-old Yass provisional-licence driver has been fined a total of $1628 after police discovered her driving an unregistered, uninsured vehicle without displaying her p-plates.

Police stopped the woman yesterday at 11.15am.

She had also failed to notify Roads and Maritime Services of a change to her address.

Drink driving, speeding

A 35-year-old man from Canberra was stopped by police for drink driving and speeding on Lachlan Valley Way at 8.40am on Saturday.

He was detected travelling 116km/h in a 100km/h zone.

A breath analysis revealed a blood-alcohol level of 0.068 and he was changed with low-range drink driving.

He will appear before Yass Local Court next month.
